Things to Do

Ballard Park is on Main Street near the library and is the site of many community events like concerts and celebrations. The park is five acres and features gardens, mature trees, a sitting gazebo, and a walking path. You can also visit Seth Low Pierrepont State Park Reserve, a beautiful area with hiking trails, large oak trees, swamp areas, boating, camping, and fishing.

Hemlock Hills is a stunning hiking area with trails, stately trees, and abundant nature. Its 421 acres include Lake Windwing, Miry Brook River, and varied topography and habitats. The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is an independent, non-collecting museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing contemporary art through events, exhibitions, and educational programs. Ridgefield Playhouse, another of Ridgefield’s cultural fulcrums, is an intimate non-profit performing arts center.
