Wilton is a suburban residential community in Fairfield County, Connecticut. It is known for its numerous historic 18th and19th century homes and varied architectural styles throughout the town. Most residential properties are zoned for 2-acres which makes for a more rural feel. In recent years, the town has experienced steady growth and town officials have made a conscious effort to preserve the town’s character and enhance the quality of life for residents. 
 
Some of the area’s most notable attractions include Weir Farm, Connecticut’s only National Park which was once the summer home and studio of prominent American impressionist J. Alden Weir. People come to enjoy this beautiful site and hike the many trails nearby.
 
Other notable places include the Old Town Hall and Wilton Public Library, which is one of the most prominent libraries in Fairfield County. The area is also home to the Wilton Playshop, a small local theater that hosts plays, musicals, and other performances year-round.
 
The main street in Wilton has small shops, restaurants, and some boutiques. Wilton is known for its highly-rated public school system. It has two train stations with easy access to Norwalk, Stamford and New York City. The Route 7 Connector links Wilton drivers to both the Merritt Parkway and Interstate 95.

Merwin Meadows Park is an in-town park with a swimming pond, beach, picnic areas, playground, restrooms, and sports fields. Wilton hosts a weekly Farmers’ Market in the Wilton Center at the Town Green that features local produce, fresh baked goods, local cuisine, and vendors. The annual Pumpkin Parade is held on Halloween day at the Wilton Center and features trick-or-treat stations, vendors, and family events. The Wilton Historical Society is a museum and educational center that features programs for children and adults, and hosts special collections and events.
